Hydration is the foundation of deep health.
THE WHY:
ATP + H2O <–ATPase–> ADP + H+ + Energy (Haff & Triplett, 2016).
This is the equation for hydrolysis. Hydrolysis is how the body takes stored ATP and turns it into usable energy. MOST IMPORTANTLY: you’ll note that it requires H20 (aka water).
MY THOUGHTS/ PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS:
When I work with people who want to optimize their health, be it for performance reasons or general health reasons, I like to start with the lowest hanging fruit possible. Hydration, and healthy cellular function underpins everything when it comes to health and performance
